"Adult Spelling Bee” is our annual fund raiser for Camp Opportunity and replaces the "Hike". Money raised will enable Camp Opportunity to continue to provide year round programs for abused and neglected children in Greenville County.
A maximum of 25 teams, consisting of 4 adults each will be competing to be "the" Spelling Bee Contest Winner but the real winner will be the children of Greenville. Rules and registration information can be found below under "Forms".
The fun part is that the spelling is done as a team, not as individuals! Words will be selected from the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary. The enunciator will pronounce the word, give its meaning and use it in a sample sentence. Your team will have 30 seconds to correctly record your answer on a slip of paper, which will be verified by the judges. This will be a fast-paced, fun-filled evening.
Recruit your team now - adults only please (21 years of age and up) and buzz your Registration in today!! We will need your team members’ names as soon as possible.

runners. Invite your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers! With
all your friends along, you know it will be a night to remember!
Your Team can fly by the troublesome words by purchasing “Word Mulligans”. They are available for just $20 each. Buy your team plenty of "Word Mulligans" and collect donations ahead of time from friends and family.
Pre-registration is required and the minimum fee per team is $150 but you can raise as much as you like. You are encouraged to get sponsors for your “Word Mulligans” and your entry fee.

Please turn in funds prior to the event (by 2/5/09). No refunds will be given for unused passes. Supporters will be able to purchase additional passes for your team during the bee.
